The whole reason for the scan is to program auto-locking doors at 16km/hr and reset the SRS airbag light. Note Also the VIN# for the EGS gearbox module shows a different VIN as compared to the DME (EGS from a 2003 X5, I did a carfax search on the VIN) - I recall the previous owner saying the 'transmission module' was changed on the car, and I have a double vanos 2002 4.4L m62 engine in the car with auto.ĭoes something need to be paired up? Will the ODB2 connection under the dash give me a full scan?
Also ran a scan with engine running, no change - just DME and EGS are scanned. I am using the ODBII connection under the dash, tried with key in position 2. But I can't scan all the modules on my 2000 540i! Just the DME and EGS modules (the first two) are scanned, the rest are attempted during the scan with no output. I have BMWscanner 1.4 running fine on my laptop, was able to scan and reprogram some modules on my E46 no issue. A BMW Scanner 1.4 is a diagnostic tool used to read faults and delete them, change certain codes and program key fobs.
Everything else was set the way I wanted, though. I was also able to code the car to automatically roll the windows up by pressing and holding the lock button.
